Monday, September 30, 2013
Many thanks for all the hard work and efforts of the Deaf Village Ireland and the Dublin Deaf Association team in helping to make these events happen. The events were the first year anniversary of the Deaf Village and the celebration of Irish Sign Language (ISL) week. International week of the Deaf was held in Deaf Village Ireland last Friday the 27th of September 2013. If you are interested in finding out more information about International Week of the Deaf, look at the article about International week of the Deaf, on the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) website.
There was a great turnout with over 200 people attending our celebration anniversary and ISL week. We were amazed to see the turnout with mixed ages, the young and the old – it was fantastic to see them at our celebration party in Deaf Village Ireland. Deaf Village Ireland teamed up with Dublin Deaf Association to organize the BBQ and much more! Also the cake was beautiful decorated to mark our anniversary!
The atmosphere in Deaf Village Ireland last Friday, was great – there were lots of social activities and dancing!
The team of Deaf Village Ireland and Dublin Deaf Association would like to thank everyone who came along to celebrate our anniversary and also ISL week. Also we, the staff of Deaf Village Ireland deeply appreciate the people who were involved in volunteering and helping out to make it happen! Thank you all!
