Work has commenced!

After many years of planning, discussion and gathering of ideas from the Deaf Community it was hard to believe that the Deaf Village Ireland project had come alive. The construction part of the project was completed in a year.

During construction there was some sadness within the Deaf community to witness the old Victorian building of St. Joseph’s School for Deaf Boys being demolished. However the Chapel wing wasn’t affected. It was part of the new plan to keep this building as a Deaf museum alongside offices. Looking on the bright side as the building of Deaf Village Ireland is nearing completion, we have a new beginning and a new era within the Deaf community.

We will be keeping up to date on what’s happening around the Deaf Village Ireland. You can follow us on Facebook for the latest updates.
